On 31th March 2019, our Honorary President and long-time resident of Thailand Paul Somm and his charming wife Milly celebrated Paul’s 90th birthday at the Centara Hotel in Hua Hin. Many of Paul’s close friends, associates and colleagues attended the wonderful event and it was a night to remember. Paul is the founding father of the Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce and still actively engaged in many projects and business affairs in Pranburi and Bangkok. On behalf of the Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce, President Bruno Odermatt and Executive Director Thomas Gerber, presented Paul with the best wishes of the Chamber. H.E. Ambassador Ivo Sieber extended the best wishes of the Swiss Community in Thailand in his opening speech and touched upon the remarkable life and business career of Paul and Milly. Paul was also the first President of the RIS Swiss Section School in Minburi and Simon Dörig, head master of the Swiss school, presented Paul with a pictures of all the students of the Swiss School as a token of appreciation. We appreciate all the good work Paul and Milly have done for the Swiss German Speaking School, the Swiss Thai Chamber of Commerce and last but not least to the Swiss Society Bangkok and wish Paul good health and many more active and rewarding years to come. We are looking forward to seeing him and his charming wife Milly at one of our next functions in Bangkok.
